Ms. Shamhooza Ahmed was appointed as a Chairperson of the Board of MWSC on 26th December 2023.
Ms, Shamhooza serves as a Director at Male’ City Council, coupled with her extensive experience in various positions within the Government, undoubtedly equips her with a profound understanding of public administration and governance.
Holding a master's in business administration from Avid College and a Diploma in Human Resource Management from MI College, which underscores her commitment to professional development and excellence in her field.

Mr. Abdul Matheen Mohamed was appointed as the Managing Director and Executive Director of the Board of MWSC on 28th November 2023.
Prior to his appointment as Managing Director of MWSC, Mr. Abdul Matheen Mohamed held the position of Chief Executive Officer and a Partner of Ensphere Investments LLP. He has also served at the Ministry of Environment as the Minister of State, which reflects his commitment to public service and his understanding of regulatory frameworks. Furthermore, Mr. Abdul Matheen’s experience as Managing Director of Micro Builders Pvt Ltd demonstrates his proficiency in project management and organizational leadership. He is a licensed Electrical Engineer.
Mr. Abdul Matheen Mohamed’s academic background in Master's of Science in Building Services Engineering from IIUM, Malaysia further enhances his qualifications, providing him a solid foundation in the technical aspects of infrastructure management.
As the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Island Beverages Maldives Pvt. Ltd (IBM), representing MWSC, Abdul Matheen Mohamed has the opportunity to leverage his expertise in both organizations, fostering collaboration and synergy between them for mutual benefit.

Abdul Salaam Mohamed was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director and Executive Director of the Board of MWSC on 26th December 2023.
His prior roles within the Maldivian government, including his tenure as an Executive at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure and service as an Atoll Councilor of North Huvadhoo, reflect a deep commitment to advancing the nation’s development.
Mr. Abdul Salaam Mohamed is a Director of Island Beverages Maldives Pvt. Ltd (IBM) to representing Male’ Water and Beverage Company Pvt. Ltd. His position as a non-executive, independent director appointed by the Maldivian government further demonstrates his alignment with public service values and governance principles.

Mr. Shu Kodama was appointed as a Director of the Board of MWSC on 18th October 2018.
Mr.Kodama serves as Chief Project Manager, Business Risk Management Office, Growth Partner Division, Water & Environment Business Unit at Hitachi, Ltd. as has served at different positions at Hitachi, Ltd. in Japan and USA.
Mr. Kodama holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia University, New York, USA and Bachelor of Science in Physics from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.
Mr. Kodama is a non-executive, independent director of the Board appointed by Hitachi Ltd.

Ms. Aishath Roohy was appointed as a Director of the Board of MWSC on 24th December 2023
Her current role is as a Treasury Management Executive, at the Ministry of Finance. Her prior experience as a member of the Privatization and Corporation Board within the Ministry of Finance suggests she’s been involved in strategic decision making related to privatization efforts and the management of state-owned corporations. This demonstrates her extensive experience in financial management and government operations. This hands-on experience will undoubtedly inform her decisions and insights as a director of MWSC.
Ms. Roohy has a rich academic background and in-depth knowledge in accounting. Ms.Roohy’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Accounting with Honours and continuing with a master's in accounting and finance management. Ms. Roohy is a non-executive, independent director of the Board appointed by the Government of Maldives. This underscores her ability to provide valuable oversight to MWSC’s operations.

He is the Managing Director at IBB Pvt Ltd, which is reflected in his exceptional leadership qualities and profound understanding of business operations. With a strong educational background and impressive business acumen, Mr. Hassan Raeef offers valuable insights in various areas such as infrastructure, construction, and general trading. His expertise and experience are highly regarded and appreciated in the business community. Mr. Hassan Raeef is a non-executive, independent director of the Board appointed by the Government of Maldives. His appointment reflects the Maldives’ government’s commitment to ensuring diverse perspectives and expertise to guide the strategic direction of MWSC.

He is currently overseeing the Company’s Human Resources and Administration Division and has provided his services in previous roles of overseeing the Company’s Supply & logistics division.
Being a person who promotes a healthy lifestyle, Yoosuf embraces a habitual running routine and rarely misses the chance to sign-up for marathons.
Mr. Yoosuf has over 17+ years of experience in The Company has been key in major changes with regards to human resources in the Company.
Mr. Yoosuf holds an MBA with specialization in Strategic Human Resource Management.

Mr. Imran joined the Company in 2003 and has progressed through the ranks to be included in the Company’s executive management team since 2015.
He is currently overseeing the Debt Recovery Division of the Company and his previous services include overseeing of the Company’s Engineering Division and the Company’s Supply & logistics division.
He is also currently serving as a non-executive director of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
Mr. Imran has over 20+ years of experience in the Company and has been a key part of various utility infrastructure development projects.
Mr. Imran holds an MBA specializing in Project management from the University of Southern Queensland.

Mr. Shaheem joined the Company in 2007 presenting his promising nature of work has awarded him a placement in the Company’s executive management team in 2022.
He is currently overseeing the Company’s Manufacturing Division where several operations plays a vital role in the Company’s business areas.
Previous roles in Operations and maintenance with relates to electrical system had paved the way for Mr.Shaheem to eventually be specialized in manufacturing where his expertise is provided to function all manufacturing operations of the Company.
With over 16+ years of experience with the Company, Mr.Shaheem has proven himself a steadfast, persuasive and valuable leader.
Mr. Shaheem holds a Masters of Manufacturing Systems Engineering.

Mr. Bushra joined the Company in 2000 and has subsequently been promoted within the ranks due to his performance and aptitude which resulted in his endorsement in the Company’s executive management team in 2020.
He is currently overseeing the Company’s engineering division and has provided his expertise in engineering solutions specifically to Eletro-mechanical design in previous roles.
During his 23+ years tenure at the Company Mr. Bushra has undertaken (in various capacity from team member to team leader) the execution of various key external utility infrastructure planning & Development projects, overseeing them to completion.
Mr. Bushra holds a MSc in Electronic systems design engineering.

Mr. Sameer has been in the Company since 1999 and has progressed within the ranks to be included in the executive management team in 2020.
He is currently overseeing the Company’s business development division and has provided his services in previous roles in assisting to oversee the Engineering division of the Company.
He played a key role in the Company’s initial entry into the engineering sector providing active involvement in the first design infrastructure project of the Company.
Mr. Sameer has over 24+ years of experience in the Company making him the longest serving EMT member and he has lent his experience, valuable input and expertise to key decisions made regarding the strategic directions and long-term planning of the Company.
Mr. Sameer holds an MBA specializing in Project management.

Mr. Rusthum joined the Company in 2010 and his key inputs in the Company’s operations in water production and maintenance has earned him to be in the executive Management team in 2018.
He is currently overseeing the Company’s Operations Division and has provided his expertise in giving strategic guidance to maintain and develop the water utility operations of the Company which is a key unit of the Company.
Mr. Rusthum is also a council member of the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT).
Mr. Rusthum has over 13+ years of experience in the Company and has given his expertise inputs in all areas of the Company.
Mr. Rusthum holds Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. Hunaif joined the Company in 2000 and through career progression in information technology sector, reached the highest with an endorsement of the Company’s Executive management in 2020.
He is currently overseeing the Company’s Information Communications Technology Division being truly the master in providing the required solutions in all aspects of operations within the Company.
With over 23+ years of experience in the Company, he has been key in developing several Company in-built IT solutions that enables smooth functioning of the Company which are also visible to the general public within the seamless interactions.
Mr. Hunaif holds a Master of Science Information Technology Management.

Mr. Ali joined the Company in 2023.
Mr. Ali joins us with an impressive history of financial leadership and experience in a range of sectors including of vast knowledge and experience of working in the financial sector in the Government and having undertaken similar responsibilities in major SOE’s.
We are confident that his vast experience and knowledge will be invaluable to our company's continued growth and success as he brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles, where he has consistently demonstrated exceptional financial acumen and strategic vision.
Mr. Ali was appointed as a Board Director at Island Beverages Maldives, a sister company of MWSC, on 4th February 2025.
