MWSC has commenced the construction work for the new sewerage system in the newly populated area of Thundi, L. Gan. The inauguration ceremony was honored by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The project was officially launched today at a special ceremony in L. Gan, attended by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdullah Muttalib, L. Gan constituency member Mr. Yoosuf Nasheed, MWSC Managing Director Mr. Abdul Matheen Mohamed, and L. Gan Council President Mr. Ahmed Zaki. State ministers, senior management of the company, and residents of the island.
The sewerage system establishment work in the newly populated area of Thundi, L. Gan includes installing the main sewerage network, laying pumping lines and sea outfall pipes, and constructing pump stations and valve chambers. The project will also include installing junctions at households, connecting sewerage lines, and providing sewerage services to homes.
The sewerage project for the newly populated area of Thundi, L. Gan is being implemented by MWSC under the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure. The total cost of the project is 36.53 million Maldivian Rufiyaa. Upon completion of this project, the newly settled residents of Thundi, L. Gan will have access to a safe sewerage system.
