MWSC Signs Contract to Establish Water and Sewerage Facilities in the Newly Reclaimed Area of R. Dhuvaafaru

MWSC has signed a contract with the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure for the development of water and sewerage facilities, on a design and build-basis, in the newly reclaimed area of R. Dhuvaafaru.

The contract was signed during an official ceremony held in R. Dhuvaafaru by the Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muthalib, and MWSC Managing Director, Mr. Abdul Matheen Mohamed. This Ceremony was attended by His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Under the contract, MWSC will undertake the installation of water and sewerage networks, installation of water meters, and the provision of water and sewerage connections to individual households. The project also includes the construction of pumping stations, installation of a sea outfall, establishment of a RO plant, and the construction of two water storage tanks to enhance water security in R. Dhuvaafaru.

The total cost of the project is 70.8 million Rufiyaa.

The completion of this project marks a significant step forward in MWSC’s ongoing mission to improve infrastructure and deliver essential services to communities across the Maldives.
