MWSC has successfully completed Water and Sewerage projects in 20 islands

Male' Water & Sewerage Company (MWSC) has successfully completed 20 islands Water and Sewerage projects that was being carried out in various parts of the Maldives.

The project has seen the installation of advanced water systems in five islands: HA. Muraidhoo, N. Feevah, N. Henbadhoo, R. Innamaadhoo, and AA. Mathiveri. Furthermore, both water and sewerage services have been fully established in the remaining 15 islands, including HA. Vashafaru, HA. Maarandhoo, HA. Thakandhoo, HDH. Hirimaradhoo, HDH. Kumundhoo, SH. Goidhoo, N. Maafaru, N. Fohdhoo, R. Fainu, B. Kamadhoo, B. Maalhos, LH. Olhuvelifushi, ADH. Kuburudhoo, AA. Himandhoo, AA. Feridhoo, and HA. Vashafaru, which were completed and commissioned by December 31, 2024.

The projects encompassed the establishment of state-of-the-art water facilities, including RO plants, storage tanks, and water and sewerage networks. Additionally, specialized infrastructure such as sewerage pumping stations, sea outfall, and reject lines have been installed to ensure seamless functionality.

This initiative was entrusted to MWSC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, with a total project value of MVR 1.34 billion. The project was set to be completed as part of the PSIP by 2024, a milestone now successfully achieved.

The completion of this project marks a significant step forward in MWSC’s ongoing mission to improve infrastructure and deliver essential services to communities across the Maldives.
